ADA, OKLA - East Central University’s campus experienced significant damage from the weather incident occurring in the early morning of Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Multiple buildings suffered damage, including Faust Hall, one of the hardest-hit areas. While we are grateful that no major injuries have been reported, the storm has had a profound impact on our campus and community.

As a result of the damage, all classes have been canceled for the remainder of the week. Classes are anticipated to resume on Monday, March 10. Due to extensive damage, Faust Hall will remain closed for the remainder of the academic year. All offices and classrooms previously housed in Faust Hall will be relocated to alternative spaces across campus. ECU Administration is currently working on revised classroom and office assignments, and students will receive updates regarding their alternate classroom locations as soon as they are made available.

University officials are working diligently with local emergency responders, city officials, and support organizations to coordinate recovery efforts.

How to Help

The ECU community has already received an overwhelming outpouring of support. Those who wish to contribute to relief efforts can visit ecok.edu/donate to support the rebuilding process.

Looking Ahead

ECU will continue to provide updates as recovery efforts progress. The University remains committed to restoring our campus and ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff.

ECU would like to thank local emergency responders, Oklahoma Office of Management and Enterprise Services, Oklahoma State Representative Ronnie Johns and Oklahoma State Senator Johnathan Wingard for standing with ECU during this challenging time.

Together, we will rebuild and emerge stronger than ever.
