Six East Central University business students are headed overseas – five to France and one to Germany – this fall for at least one semester through ECU’s Go Global Study Abroad Program.

Shelby O’Dell, an accounting major from Marietta and Turner High School; Casie Henderson, an entrepreneurship major from Purcell; Jacey McDonald, a marketing major from Blanchard; Madison Keith, a business management major from Purcell and Washington High School; and Cody Rekieta, a business management major from Burleson, Texas, will be attending ECU’s sister institution – the University of Limoges in Limoges, France.

Colten Skinner, a double-major in business management information systems and history, will be attending another of ECU’s sister institutions - the University of Applied Sciences in Biberach, Germany.

By participating in this program, ECU business students are eligible to earn a Global Business Certificate as this opportunity increases the students’ awareness of the global business environment.

“This will be a fantastic learning experience for our students. While visiting with them they seemed eager, confident and will no doubt represent our university well,” said ECU President Dr. Katricia Pierson. “I’m also excited to hear about their experiences as they go along and especially when they come back. Studying globally can have far-reaching effects, not only personally but on an educational level.”
