East Central University honored the late William C. Thrash with the 2014 Distinguished Alumnus Award during the ECU Foundation’s Evening of Honors and Recognition in May. Accepting the award for her husband was Billie Thrash (center). Also pictured are ECU President John R. Hargrave and Elizabeth Vezina, president of the ECU Alumni Association. William Thrash supervised, produced and/or directed a multitude of local, regional and national television productions in his more than 50-year career. He was the donor for the William C. Thrash TV studio in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center on the ECU campus and also served as chair of the ECU Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
