New works by Ada composers Victoria Davison and Rudy Lupinski will begin the University Chorale's concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday [NOV. 24] at the First United Methodist Chapel.
Dr. Steven Walker, East Central University professor of music, will direct the select 22-member Chorale in Davison and Lupinski's "Song For Lord Jesus" and "In The Still of Evening."
The program also will include "O Magnum Mysterium" by Tomas Luis da Vittoria, "Lux Aurumque" and "I thank You God for this most amazing day" by Eric Whitacre, "Der " and "Nachtwacher II" by Johannes Brahms, "I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes" by Morten Lauridsen, "Mata Del Anima Sola" by Antonio Esteves and "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds.
Lupinski, an adjunct instructor of music at ECU, also is the accompanist for the concert.
Members of the Chorale include sopranos Christa Chandler, Pauls Valley; Brooke Haygood, Norman; Victoria Davison, Danna Howry, Heather Holland and Brooke Trail, Ada; Sharon Olds, Wellston; Sheena Stallings, Shawnee; and ECU librarian Angie Brunk.
Altos are Leah Creason, Beggs; Caitlin Gray and Brittany Trail, Ada; Casey Taylor, Moore; and Christina Kushnick, Spiro. Tenors are Chris Geisler, Newalla; Jesse Gordon, Seminole; Jim Gordon, Rango, Ga.; and ECU music faculty Kelley Alig. Basses are Phillip Berryhill, Ada; Nick Geisler, Newalla; Tim Long, Tecumseh; and Luke Smith, Holdenville.
