All scholarships require full-time attendance (12 hours for undergraduate; 6 hours for graduate) unless indicated otherwise.
All scholarships require a 3.0 cumulative GPA unless indicated otherwise.
All scholarships are for fall and/or spring semester only (summer not included) unless indicated otherwise.
All scholarship recipients are recommended by the department, with final approval by the ECU Foundation Scholarship Committee.
Any exceptions must be approved by the department chair and the Foundation Scholarship Committee.
ADA COCA-COLA BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the department and was established by the Crabtree family of Ada.
BRILES SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded based on need and a minimum 2.5 GPA. Originally established as part of the Federal Student Loan Program, this scholarship was transferred to the Foundation in 1995.
CITIZENS BANK OF ADA BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the Business Administration department.
CITIZENS BANK OKLAHOMA BUSINESS WEEK SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to a Business Administration student, with preference to a student who has attended Oklahoma Business Week.
HENRY GREER CLARK BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the Business Administration department. Long-time Ada businessman Martin H. Clark and his wife, Lenora Agee Clark, established this scholarship to assist students with their educational expenses. Martin and Lenora met at the BSU the first day she arrived at ECU and their children and grandchildren also attended ECU.
EDNA MAE QUERY COOLEY BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to a student from Roff High School who plans to attend ECU and major in Business. Mrs. Cooley taught at Roff High School for several years, and established this scholarship in order to help a Roff student achieve his/her career goals. This scholarship can be ongoing for up to eight consecutive semesters. A minimum 3.0 GPA must be achieved each semester.
DCT STONECIPHER SCHOOL OF BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship can be awarded to outstanding students who have been accepted into the “Freshmen Scholars Program” or the “Scholar Leader Program”. This includes students from either the Accounting or Business Administration departments. This scholarship is awarded at the discretion of the Stonecipher School of Business Scholarship Committee, or their chosen designee.
JAMES DRODDY FRESHMAN SCHOLAR SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded a student accepted into the Freshman Scholars Program each fall. The recipient must be a full-time student and preference will be given to students that demonstrate need and special consideration will be given to scholar students in the ECU Band. This scholarship is a leadership scholarship and can be used for tuition, fees, and/or books. James "Jimbo" Droddy was a member of the ECU Band and was an accounting major who enrolled as a Freshman Business Scholars in 2015. He was tragically killed in an automobile accident in 2017. This scholarship will be awarded to an incoming Freshman Scholar as long as the program exists, otherwise the scholarship will be awarded to an accounting major with preference given to a student who is also a member of the ECU Band. This scholarship is awarded at the discretion of the Stonecipher School of Business Scholarship Committee, or their chosen designee.
FENTON FAMILY BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding student in accounting and an outstanding student in Business Administration. Brad Fenton, an ECU alumnus and thriving entrepreneur, established this scholarship to assist students in the areas of Accounting and Business Administration.
DR. BUDDY GASTER MARKETING SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in Marketing. Dr. Gaster was a long-time member of the School of Business faculty and this scholarship was established in his honor and memory by family, friends, and colleagues.
GODWIN FAMILY BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the Business Administration department. Established by Wendell Godwin and family, during his time as the Dean of the Stonecipher School of Business. This scholarship will assist students who are pursuing a degree in Business Administration.
JIM GRAY BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the Business Administration department. Jim Gray is an ECU alumnus who has provided funds for numerous projects in the Stonecipher School of Business, and has also funded other scholarships at the Foundation.
HIGGINBOTHAM FAMILY BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to a junior or senior student with a minimum 3.25 GPA, with preference to a student who is pursuing a concentration in Entrepreneurship. Dorothy Higginbotham was an ECU alumna who understood and recognized the value of higher education and established this scholarship as part of her estate planning.
WHITNEY BYNUM HOWARD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to students with a minimum 3.0 GPA and a declared major within the Stonecipher School of Business. Preference will be given to students who have graduated from a Pontotoc County high school in Oklahoma (Allen, Ada, Byng, Latta, Roff, Stonewall, or Vanoss). Preference will also be given to students that have completed community service or a community service project with a group. This scholarship was created by friends and family of Whitney Bynum Howard to bridge the gap for those students whom would otherwise have to take on student loan debt to complete their higher education goals. Whitney is described by those who knew her best as a selfless, kind, respectful and loving individual, who had a true servant heart. This scholarship is to reward someone with these same qualities that is truly committed to learning. Whitney leaves behind her husband Taylor, her best friend & soulmate and son Jackson, the light of her life. She was the mom, wife, daughter, sister, cousin, friend, co-worker, student, etc. everyone wishes they had in their life.
"BUTTON" MILLER SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in Business Administration. The original donations to this scholarship were made by Miller Office Equipment.
BILL AND BETTY PARHAM BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the department. Established after the death of Bill Parham, this scholarship was funded by Betty Ely Parham, an ECU alumna and long-time member of the Ada community.
ESSIE ROARK STONECIPHER SCHOOL OF BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to a student(s) who serve in the Stonecipher School of Business student organization as an officer in the Business Leaders Association (BLA). BLA officers are elected by the student members and serve one-year terms. In addition to the scholarship, the student will be expected to volunteer time, working in the BLA office, supporting the Stonecipher School of Business and the student organizations in a leadership role. Student members in BLA elect officers each February. The Dean of the Stonecipher School of Business will select the officer(s) to receive this scholarship, based on elected position, need, available volunteer schedule, and leadership potential.
RHYNES & RHODES FURNITURE OF ADA BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to a student who exhibits an interest in Entrepreneurship. Mr. Rhynes was a long-time businessman in Ada and his family provides yearly funding for the awarding of this scholarship.
ROBBINS FAMILY MEMORIAL AWARD
Recipients of this award will be first semester freshmen students that graduated from Byng High School. Preference will be given to students that show financial need and recipients must maintain a 2.5 GPA to receive the second portion of the award. Recipients must be full-time ECU students and in good standing with the Stonecipher School of Business. This award is for one academic year only, not including summer, per each recipient.
MICKEY V. SOWARD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to an Ada High School student who plans to attend ECU and declares a major within the Stonecipher School of Business. Preference will be given to first generation college students. Mickey and his wife Sherri were long-time business owners in the Ada community and are graduates of Ada High School. Their daughter, Lacy (Soward) Grammer, is a first-generation college student, 2008 ECU School of Business graduate and lifetime member of the ECU Alumni Association. Mr. Soward wanted Lacy to repay the entire cost of her education to ECU so others could attend college. This scholarship was established in his honor and memory by his daughter.
BERTHA AND MYRTLE STURDEVANT SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to full-time ECU students who are employed by the Stonecipher School of Business as a student employee. Preference is given to those with the greatest financial need for the scholarship at the time of the award. Preference is also given to those with a 3.0 GPA or higher and classification of junior or senior. This scholarship may be given to a student with a GPA lower than a 3.0 and/or a classification of freshman or sophomore based on financial need. The recipient will be selected by the Stonecipher School of Business Scholarship Committee or their designee. This scholarship is funded by Lynda K. Simpson, who has a long history with ECU and is thankful for the education she received from the School of Business. Bertha and Myrtle Sturdevant were professors in Business Education.
SUTTON LEADERS FOR CHRIST SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to students who are: a current serving member of a recognized ECU campus ministry or served as a Missional intern during one of the last two summer periods. Students must maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA, be classified as a junior or senior and be a full-time student at ECU. Preference will be given to students with a declared major of Business Administration or Accounting, but all majors are encouraged to apply. Applicants must also provide a typed statement of approximately 50 words stating why they should be chosen for this scholarship. Recipients will be selected by the ECU Foundation Scholarship Committee. This scholarship is generously funded by Trevor & Emmy Sutton. Trevor is an ECU Alum of the Stonecipher School of Business. Trevor knows that everything he is and everything he has is because of God and wants to honor God with what he has been given. “I give because I can and, most of all, because Christ first gave - everything”.
JOE M. TURNER MEMORIAL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the Business Administration department. Mr. Turner graduated from ECU in 1971, and became an IRS agent. He later became a Special Agent for the Treasury Department. The Joe Turner Justice Wing in the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center was funded by his son Kevin Turner. Kevin also funded this scholarship in honor of his father.
KEVIN TURNER BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the Business Administration department. Mr. Turner is an ECU alumni and well-known businessman; he established this scholarship to assist students who are pursuing a degree in Business Administration.
VISION BANK BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the Business Administration department.
BILL WALDEN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the Business Administration department. Mr. Walden was a long-time faculty member in the School of Business and this scholarship has been established in his honor by family and friends.
DR. GERALD WILLIAMSON BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION AWARD
At the discretion of the Dean of the Stonecipher School of Business, this fund will be used for student development opportunities, such as educational trips, internship support, or team building events. This fund can also be used for scholarships, with the emphasis on an upper division student that has or will be representing the University via business competitions, athletics, Greek leadership, or campus activity involvement. Dr. Williamson, former faculty member in the school of business and vice-president for student development, was honored with this fund provided by his former students.
WOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to female students with a declared major in Information Technology Management. The recipient must be classified as a junior or senior and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. Recipients must be planning a career in a technology-related discipline and preference will be given to female students that graduated from an Oklahoma or Texas High School. This scholarship was established by alumnae, Melanie Davis, who understands the needs for women in technology-related positions for today's workforce to thrive.
