East Central University distinguishes itself as a Native American - Serving Nontribal Institution (NASNTI) as Native American students make up over 18% of the student population on campus. Thus, the US Department of Education awards grant funding to such institutions to expand upon services and resources to support our Native American and Pell Eligible students with their completion of a higher education degree.
The NASNTI REACHE Program, (Resources to Enhance Achievement and Completion in Higher Education) offers Native American and Pell eligible students opportunities for research internships, faculty mentoring, field related student employment, distance learning resources, advising, tutoring and other high-impact educational experiences. Our program offers cultural activities on campus each semester to increase awareness as well as provide an atmosphere conducive to building relationships. We are interested in assisting students with what they need not only to survive but to thrive in higher education.
