What is ESports?
When you think of sports you often immediately go to traditional sports, which are things like Basketball, Football and Soccer. The new and rapidly growing field of electronic sports or ESports is any sport played digitally. In ESports you get similar activities that involve skill, competition, and adherence to rules that "TSports" offers. ESports has many unique advantages that are contributing to the rapid growth in the space. Gaming is a culture that is quickly moving into the professional sports scene. ECU Tiger Esports is uniquely positioned to provide a full sport experience for our students on campus.
What are the requirements to be in the Esports program at ECU?
Any full time, active student, in good academic standing is eligible to participate in the Esports program at ECU. Certain leagues have specific rules, check with the Director/Coach if you want to know more.
Do you offer scholarships?
YES! We offer tuition waivers for Varsity athletes. To be eligible for a tuition waiver a student needs to be an Oklahoma resident, a full time student at ECU, and in good academic standing.
How large is the Esports program?
In the Fall 2024 semester we had 35 active students participating in Esports at ECU. We supported 7 different teams of players across multiple platforms.
What leagues do you compete in?
We participate in the Great American Conference (GAC), a D2 regional conference that our traditional athletic teams compete in. We also compete nationally in the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) and the East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC).

What is ECU Esports doing to give back to the community?
We are incredibly proud to partner with our local high school students involved in Esports. We host events, tournaments and qualifiers for 7-12 graders in our area. We have also worked with area non-profits (Youth Connect Club and UnitedWay) to host fundraiser and memorial events. We are always looking for ways to give back to the community as our mission is to grow ESports in Oklahoma. All the efforts we do to work with the community directly support our mission.
